When summer comes to mind, we all think of vacation, the sea, and sunbathing. Did you know that planned sunbathing can protect you from breast cancer?
Most of us have heard that sun exposure causes skin cancer. However, using sunscreen wisely and deliberately can not only give you a gorgeous tan but also protect you from various cancers that are common in society, such as breast cancer. Epidemiological studies have found that lack of sunlight increases the risk of breast cancer. In other words, sunlight is not a risk factor for breast cancer. This is because sunlight increases vitamin D synthesis. On the contrary, a lack of sunlight raises alarm bells for many diseases, including breast cancer.
However, excessive sun exposure and UV rays from tanning beds can lead to cancer development on breast skin, as on all skin types. For optimal sun exposure, sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 should be used. Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun for long periods that cause redness.
