NIPPLE DISCHARGE
Breast discharge gains importance depending on the type of discharge.
Breast discharge is significant depending on the type of discharge. Persistent bloody or spoiled blood (red wine-colored) discharge from the nipple may be a sign of breast cancer and should be evaluated. Occasional yellow-green fluid from the nipple is usually associated with fibrocystic changes and is not a serious concern. If there is nipple discharge, a doctor's examination is essential, along with microscopic examination of the cells in the discharge and, if necessary, a galactogram to visualize the milk ducts.
