Despite the increasing incidence of breast cancer, there has been a decrease in deaths from breast cancer. The most significant factor in this decrease is advances in early diagnosis. Research indicates that two-thirds of the decrease in breast cancer deaths is attributed to early diagnosis, while one-third is attributed to improvements in treatment options.
