Long-term (more than five years) hormone use after menopause has been shown to slightly increase the risk of developing breast cancer.

Long-term hormone use after menopause (more than five years) has been shown to slightly increase the risk of breast cancer. However, for those with significant menopause-related symptoms, hormone use is not associated with significant risks provided they are monitored by a gynecologist and have regular breast exams.
